Thousands have come out to see Olympic Torch today as it continues its tour through Sussex and Kent.

Big crowds were seen in Rye in East Sussex, through Ashford, Hythe and Sandgate in Kent.

Highlights included the flame travelling through part of the Channel Tunnel, and then being carried on a Tall Ship into to Dover.

Among the Torchbearers were Douglas Evans, 54, who takes wayward, aggressive individuals and helps them channel their uncontrolled energy to focus on their family or martial arts, improving his community.

Also running with the flame were Robbie Herbert, 15, from Deal, who will be carrying the Torch in Dover. Robbie’s future in sport was assured before he was diagnosed with Long QT Syndrome, but despite this he remains dedicated to being involved in sport in any way that he can.

On day 61 the Relay traveled through the following communities: Hastings, Rye, Hamstreet, Ashford, Hythe, Sandgate, Folkestone, Samphire Hoe and Dover.

The evening celebration took place on Dover seafront with a wide variety of entertainment, including music from Rizzle Kicks and a routine from dance duo Twist and Pulse.
