New study into links between dementia and stress

Dementia cases are expected to double over the next thirty years

Scientists at the University of Southampton are investigating claims that chronic stress could be linked to the development of Alzheimer's Disease.

At the moment 100,000 people in our region suffer from dementia and that figure is expected to double over the next thirty years. Tragically - one in three patients over the age of 65 will die from it.

Meridian presenter Fred Dinenage spoke to Professor Clive Holmes from Southampton University to find out how the study could help people in the future.
