Car transporter overturns on main road

The accident closed the A34 northbound in Berkshire from around 4pm

The driver of a car transporter is in hospital after the lorry overturned on the A34.

Thames Valley Police were called to the scene just after 4pm this afternoon. It happened on the northbound carriageway between Beedon and East Isley in Berkshire.

The driver complained of back pain and was taken to hospital to be checked over. His injuries are not believed to be serious. The Highways Agency is also on the scene.

The A34 northbound has been closed. It is hoped the road will open later this evening.
