Rail accident: one dead
It's believed a man riding a scooter or moped has been killed after being hit by a passenger train at the Ufton Nervet rail crossing in Berkshire, at just after 1pm today. These are the first video pictures from the scene.
In 2004, seven people died at the crossing after a collision between a train and a car.
British Transport Police are now on the scene.
There are delays on First Great Western trains between Newbury and Reading, Westbury and Reading, and Taunton and Reading.
A replacement bus service is being arranged. There is currently no rail or bus service between Newbury and Reading. A limited train service is running between Newbury and Bedwyn.
First Great Western say the train is now on the move to the next station.
A spokesman added: "First Great Western can confirm that there has been an incident in the vicinity of Ufton Nervet. Emergency services are in attendance.
"Trains running between Reading and Thatcham may be delayed or cancelled at short notice. Rail replacement transport is currently being resourced.
"A limited rail service is operating between Newbury and Bedwyn calling at Kintbury and Hungerford."
