Bad weather brings misery
Commuters faced difficult journeys into work today after strong winds and heavy rain caused ferry services to be cancelled and roads to be congested. Trees have been blown down in some areas and flood warnings have been put in place. Cars have also been damaged after scaffolding attached to a hotel in Southsea was blown over this morning. But despite the heavy rain, water companies say hosepipe bans are still necessary. Simon Robertson from South East Water explains the region is still in a drought.
A Southsea resident hopes it won't be third time unlucky after high winds caused scaffolding to blow over and crush his van. Malcolm Clarke lives by the Royal Beach Hotel. It comes less than a year after a major fire destroyed Joanna's nightclub on South Parade Pier - right next to the hotel.
