Titanic: Lightoller - real life hero
This week in April 2012 marks the one hundredth anniversary of the Titanic's maiden voyage from the South Coast, and her sinking.
The most senior crew member of the ship to survive that ill-fated journey was Charles Lightoller.
He was the Titanic's Second Officer and helped launch dozens of lifeboats as the ship sank - and saved other passengers - despite being in the water himself. But rather than dwell on the horrors of that night, he went on to prove his courage yet again during the Dunkirk evacuation of World War Two, when his boat the Sundowner was one of the 'Little Ships' rescuing soldiers from the beaches.
Derek Johnson reports from Ramsgate Harbour in Kent, where the Sundowner is moored.
