New Ikea store for Berkshire

New Ikea store will be built on site of derelict shops

Approval has been given for a new ten million pound Ikea store on the outskirts of Reading. Councillors say it can be built on land at Calcot.

The company says it will create four-hundred new jobs and replace derelict shops at the Pincents Lane retail park, close to junction 12 of the M4. But some residents and businesses had objected - as Kate Cooney explains.
