Titanic's impact on Southampton

A new drama begins tonight to mark the one hundredth anniversary - next month - of the sinking of the Titanic. The drama 'Titanic' on ITV1 at 9pm was created by award-winning Dorset writer Julian Fellowes.

However what happened in the liner's departure port after the disaster occurred? The Titanic set sail from Southampton in April 1912. ITV Meridian correspondent Andrew Pate has been speaking to historian Genevieve Bailey about the impact the tragedy of the Titanic had on the city and its people a century ago.
