Town's tribute to dead soldiers

Carterton pays its respect to six fallen soldiers

The families of the six servicemen repatriated to RAF Brize Norton were joined by hundreds of people today who lined the streets of Carterton, in Oxfordshire, to pay their respects.

The men died during a bomb blast last month - the biggest single loss of life for our troops in Afghanistan since 2006.

The plane carrying their bodies arrived at RAF Brize Norton where a private ceremony was held. Then the cortege made its way to a memorial garden on the edge of Carterton - en-route to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital. Kate Cooney reports on a day a town will never forget.
