Pompey captain to head to Cardiff
Cardiff City FC has announced that an agreement has been reached for the Pompey captain Liam Lawrence to join the club on loan till the end of the current season.
Lawrence, aged 30, is a Republic of Ireland international midfielder. He has made fifty-six appearances for Pompey since his initial loan from Stoke in September 2010. The move was made permanent in January 2011. Just last week he joined other players helping out in the Fratton Park box office to encourage fans to buy tickets for a game.
According to Cardiff City's offical website the loan deal runs until the end of May and would include any possible play-off games if required.
Portsmouth Football Club is heavily in debt and the club is currently looking for a new owner. The club's application to go into administration was granted by the High Court on 17th February.
