Five girls barred from travelling to Syria are from same school as three girls who fled there
Five girls who were banned by a High Court judge from going abroad after they showed an interest in travelling to Syria were from the same Bethnal Green school as the three girls who fled there.
Kadiza Sultana, Shamima Begum, and Amira Abase were pupils at Bethnal Green Academy. They went missing from their homes in February and it later emerged that they had travelled to Syria to join Islamic State.
The High Court took the passports away from the five other girls earlier this month. It has barred them from being identified.
