Film director Baz Luhrmann and artist Tracey Emin were among the judges for the Motion Photography Prize, which celebrates the rise of camera phones and the way they enable people from all backgrounds to tell their stories.
Anyone over 13 could enter. The entries were in the form of GIFs - short films made by animating a series of still photographs. Six finalists have been selected from more than 4,000 entries and the winner will be announced later.
The unlicensed events unfolded on Saturday night at Clapham Common and Tooting Bec Common.
