Two women have died following a fire at a house on Purrett Road, Plumstead in the early hours of this morning. A further three women and two men left the building before fire crews arrived.
They have all been taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.The fire severely damaged the ground and first floor and half of the roof was destroyed by the blaze.
The Brigade was called at just before 1am and the fire was under control by 0255. Six fire engines from Plumstead, Erith, Bexley, and Woolwich fire stations were at the scene with 35 firefighters and officers.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by police and fire investigation officers.
The unlicensed events unfolded on Saturday night at Clapham Common and Tooting Bec Common.
