Petition to rename Dartford Crossing 'Dick Turpin Way'

A councillor in Havering has posted a petition on the Government's e-petition website calling for the Dartford Crossing to be renamed 'Dick Turpin Way' after the legendary highwayman.

Clarence Barrett is angry that the Department of Transport has announced an increase in the tolls that motorists pay to use it. The Department says it needs the money to pay for a new crossing but Councillor Barrett has described the measure as 'highway robbery'.
