Parents 'truly heartbroken' over daughter's death

The parents of a seven-year-old girl who died when the bouncy castle she was playing on blew away, have paid tribute to their daughter - saying they are " truly heartbroken".

Summer Grant was visiting an Easter fun fair in Harlow with her family on Saturday afternoon when high winds ripped the inflatable from the ground.

The family of seven-year-old Summer Grant who died when the bouncy castle she was playing on blew away have paid tribute to their daughter saying they are "heartbroken".

Summer died after a strong gust of wind apparently swept the inflatable 150 metres across a park in Harlow, Essex, on Easter Saturday.

Summer was a bright beautiful and most loving little girl, it is so unfair that you have been taken, it just doesn't make sense. I'm truly heartbroken.

Summer's father Lee Grant also thanked fundraisers after more than £2,500 has been raised to support the family of Summer Grant.

I never thought our beautiful angel would be taken away from us or that we would outlive her.

She was the most happy, polite and beautiful girl in the world. I still can't come to terms she's not here.

Girl who died on bouncy castle was visiting Easter fair

A 7-year-old-girl has died after the bouncy castle she was playing on blew away in Harlow.

She was visiting an Easter fair when high winds ripped the dome-shaped inflatable from the ground and blew it 150 metres across a park.

Police have arrested two people in connection with the incident, which happened yesterday afternoon.

Young girl dies after bouncy castle blows away

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a girl died when a bouncy castle she was on blew away in Harlow Town Park.

The girl, who is believed to be aged 7 and from Norwich, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital by ambulance just before 5pm on Saturday March 26th after sustaining serious injuries whilst on a bouncy castle. She sadly died a few hours later.

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are leading this investigation and would like to speak to anybody who has any information or who witnessed the incident.

"This is a very tragic incident where a young girl has lost her life. My deepest sympathies go out to her family. We are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding how the girl came to be injured and I urge anyone who was at the event and witnessed the incident to contact me. Officers are aware of video footage of the scene being circulated and ask anyone who captured the incident on camera to get in touch.

A 24-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, both from Cambridgeshire, have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence and remain in police custody.

A video has emerged showing the police response moments after a young girl died when the bouncy castle she was playing on blew away.

The funfair can be seen in the Harlow Town Park in Essex as police run towards an ambulance.
