Family of Crossrail worker 'just want want answers'

The family of Rene Tkacik, a 44-year-old man who died whilst working on the Crossrail project last year have said they hope the inquest into his death will reveal what happened to him.

Speaking outside the inquest this morning, his lawyer Helen Clifford said the family just want answers.

An inquest into the death of a worker who died last year whilst working on the Crossrail project has opened this morning.

René Tkacik, 44, who died on 7 March after he was hit by a section of freshly applied shotcrete at Crossrail’s Fisher Street site.

He died as he sprayed concrete through a hose - known as "shotcreting" - used by Crossrail contractors.
