Sir Chris Hoy hosts Anniversary Run
Sir Chris Hoy is today hosting an anniversary run as a celebration of London 2012's legacy. The five-mile course around the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park takes in the Lee Valley VeloPark, London Aquatics Centre and the Copper Box Arena, before finishing next to the ArcelorMittal Orbit.

Horse Guards Parade transformed into stadium
It has taken six days to transform London's iconic Horse Guards Parade into an athletics venue, ahead of today's Anniversary Games marking the start of the London Olympics in 2012. Instead of being held at the Olympic Stadium, athletes will gather at a temporary stadium at Horse Guards Parade and a track on the Mall. British Athletics TV has released timelapse footage showing the last week's preparations:

Sainsbury's Anniversary Games
The Sainbury's anniversary Games takes place in London today. A temporary stadium at Horse Guards Parade will host a variety of track and field events. Athletes expected to compete this afternoon include Team GB sprinter, Jonnie Peacock, pole vaulter, David Weir, Ashton Eaton and Renaud Lavillenie and many more.
