Tribute to 70-year-old rape victim's 'courage'
The Metropolitan Police has paid tribute to the 'spirit and courage' of 70-year-old pensioner who was raped and beaten in her Chessington home, and later gave evidence in court. Today Robert Richards was found guilty of attempted murder, rape and attempted rape. He will be sentenced on Monday.

A man has been found guilty of raping and trying to murder a 70-year-old pensioner in her Chessington home. Robert Richards, 22, broke into her bedroom early in the morning before raping and beating her. The woman was found with extensive injuries.
He will be sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on Monday.
