Prince Harry and Boris Johnson visit Olympic Park

Prince Harry has said he is sure Prince George will get the chance to visit the Olympic Park in future years,

The Prince was speaking as he toured the new attractions at the park in east London with Boris Johnson ahead of its official opening tomorrow.

When asked if Prince George would visit, he replied: "I'm sure he'll have his chance to come down here.

"You never know, the Olympics might be back here again before we know it."

On hearing that remark, Boris Johnson joked: "We'll put in for the Winter Games!"

Prince Harry enjoyed testing the new attractions at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park today as schoolchildren pushed him as high as possible on a newly installed swing.

The Prince joined Mayor of London Boris Johnson on a visit to the park in Stratford, east London ahead of its official opening on Saturday.

After getting off the basket swing, Harry told the children: "Now I get to push you."

Prince Harry joined Boris Johnson today on a visit to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park ahead of its official opening on Saturday.

The 560 acre park has been transformed since the 2012 games and will open to the public from 10am on Saturday.

The prince and the Mayor of London met local schoolchildren and spoke to teams involved in the development of the area over the last 18 months.

New features in the park include interactive water fountains, themed walking trails and a new adventure playground.

Bronze-medal winning diver Tom Daley is calling for Londoners and visitors alike to be part of the legacy of the 2012 Games as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park fully opens on 5th April for the first time.

He said: "The London Aquatics Centre has so many memories for me. To be able to train here full time is just amazing and I really do hope that lots of people are inspired to get involved in different sporting events and activities within the Park.

"The facilities we've got here are second to none. Even if people just want to come and have a swim and stay fit and active, that's hopefully what the Olympic legacy has left behind."

A key section of London's Olympic Park will finally be opened to the public this weekend weekend, following an 18-month transformation.

The southern section of the venue will open from 10am on April 5 along with the £22.3 million ArcelorMittal Orbit tower.

The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) aims to make the 560 acre site a "new heart for east London" which is similar to the feel of London's Southbank.

The newly revamped section of the park boasts a new tree-lined promenade, interactive water fountains and four themed walking trails which explore the key sights of the London 2012 Games.

The Olympic Stadium will remain closed until August 2016 although it will host five matches during next year's Rugby World Cup.
