Hertfordshire Game of Thrones village: 'It's history imitating fiction'

The Hertfordshire village of Kings Langley is changing it's name in February to Kings Landing to promote the DVD release of Game of Thrones.

The local council, Dacorum Borough, is "thrilled" by the decision.

"We have more connections to the Game of Thrones era than you think. It's not just in the name!

The village has many historic parallels. It too was involved in a lot of squabbling in the medieval times.

You could say it's history imitating fiction!"

A village called Kings Langley in Hertfordshire is changing its name to Kings Landing to promote the release of Game of Thrones on DVD.

It's apparently going to happen for a week next month.

"We're really excited about the name change," said parish councillor Bob McLean, "the village is fantastic and we want as many people as possible to appreciate what it has to offer".
