Words which best describe London

A new survey has found a majority of Londoners believe the city should have its own logo.

The YouGov poll commissioned by branding agency Landor Associates found that 51% of those living in the capital believe the city should have a logo compared with 31% who disagreed.

They were also asked to pick three words that best describe London. Here are the findings:

  • Diverse - 61%
  • Creative - 31%
  • Proud - 26%
  • Resilient - 19%
  • Tolerant - 18%
  • Aggressive -16%
  • Ambitious - 14%
  • Freedom - 14%

More than half of Londoners think the capital should copy cities like New York indesigning its own logo, according to a new YouGov survey.

Londoners were also asked to decide which words most describeLondon, with 'diverse', 'creative' and 'proud' proving the most popular with residents.

Asked which sights most represent the city, traditional icons like Big Ben, Tower Bridge or the London Underground were the most common answers

Meanwhile, no respondents chose the Gherkin or the Olympic Stadium, both newer landmarks.
