ITV Local Hero finalist - Pat Gardner

For more than 3 decades Pat Gardner has been a friend, a confident and an inspiration to thousands of families in Greenwich.

When her son was born with cerebral palsy she knew she wanted to help families living with disabilities.

What started in her living room has now become a lifeline service - all paid for by fund-raising.

It's an amazing achievement and the reason she's been nominated as an ITV Local Hero at his year's Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards.

Ria Chatterjee has her story.

ITV Local Hero finalist - Eleanor Botwright

A few months ago we asked you to nominate people worthy of the ITV Local Hero award for their work in London's communities. The winner will go to the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards next month.

ITV Local Hero finalist - Christina Burnett

In the next few weeks the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards will help celebrate the people who really do make a difference.

Earlier this year we asked for your help to find a winner of the ITV Local Hero award - a special person who works tirelessly in their community.

This week we'll be meeting the finalists, and first up is Christina Burnett.

She dedicates her time to helping elderly and vulnerable people in Lambeth enrich their lives by getting to grips with modern technology.

Ria Chatterjee went to see her in action.
