The groups who have made successful applications to open Free Schools in September 2014 now need to secure their sites.
The Education Department has co-developed a website with the Cabinet Office that lists all surplus government property available to buy or rent, including those suitable for free schools.

More free schools on the horizon
Education Secretary Michael Gove has approved 46 free schools for London. The proposals included a music school for 16 to 19-year-olds in Tower Hamlets, a National Autistic Society school in Lambeth and a Family School for children with complex psychological, family and mental health problems.
The groups will secure their sites and prepare to open from September next year.
