Pair named after swimming pool deaths
A man and a woman found dead in a swimming pool at a hotel were named at an inquest today.
Komba Kpakiwa, 31, from Erith in Kent, and Josephine Newahun Foday, 22, from south London were discovered in the water at Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hatfield Heath, Essex, on Saturday evening.
Ms Foday's birthday was the previous day and she was at the hotel to celebrate.

Man and woman died from drowning
Police say two people who were found dead in a swimming pool at a luxury hotel in Essex died from drowning.
Detectives have still not named the man in his 30s and woman in her 20s who were discovered on Saturday at the Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hatfield Heath.

Couple drowned, say police
A man and woman found dead in a swimming pool at a country hotel both drowned, police said.
The bodies of the pair, a man in his early 30s and a woman in her early 20s from the London area, were discovered at the Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hatfield Heath, Essex, on Saturday evening.
Essex Police said that a provisional post-mortem examination found that their deaths were consistent with drowning.
A spokesman added: "Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to their deaths but are treating them as non-suspicious.
"Further routine tests will be undertaken and a report will be prepared for the HM Coroner's inquest hearing."
The couple will not be identified until the inquest into their deaths is opened, he added.

Hotel pool deaths investigated
Police are investigating the unexplained deaths of a couple from London who were found in the swimming pool of a hotel near Bishop's Stortford.
Emergency services were called to Down Hall Country House Hotel yesterday evening. Tonight, officers are looking into several theories including the possibility they were overcome by toxic fumes.
The manager of the hotel, Chris Falcus, has issued this statement:
"We are devastated by this tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends of those concerned. As soon as the alarm was raised, two of our team dived into the pool and did everything they could to try to save them. We are cooperating fully with the police investigation."

Police probe hotel swimming pool deaths
Detectives are investigating the deaths of two guests at a hotel at Hatfield Heath near Bishop's Stortford. Officers were called to Down Hall Country House Hotel in Matching Road at about 7.35pm on Saturday April 27 after a man and a woman had been found under water in the hotel’s swimming pool.
Hotel staff and ambulance crews tried in vain to revive them but both were later pronounced dead at the scene. The deaths are being treated as unexplained. The man, in his 30s and the woman, in her 20s, are believed to be from London. Post mortem examinations are to be carried out tomorrow.
