A teenager accused of stabbing a youth to death in north London on his 16th birthday has denied murder.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of killing Derek Boateng while he was on a crowded single-decker bus near Highbury New Park.
Appearing at the Old Bailey, the youth, from Romford in Essex, pleaded not guilty to one count of murder.
Teen in court over bus knifing
A 15-year-old boy is due to appear in court today, charged with the murder of Derek Boateng. The 16-year-old schoolboy from Hackney was celebrating his Birthday on the day he was stabbed on a 393 bus in Highbury New Park.
He was treated on the scene before being airlifted to hospital where he died on Wednesday from multiple knife wounds.
