Controversial road tolls for drivers using the Blackwall tunnel will begin on April the 7th.
The new charge will coincide with the opening of the £2bn Silvertown Tunnel linking Newham and Greenwich Peninsula.
Cars will be charged up to £4 for a journey through either tunnel depending on the time of day and direction of travel.
Drivers can be charged during off-peak and peak hours. Peak hours apply only on weekdays between 6am and 10am for northbound journeys and 4pm and 7pm for southbound journeys.
The off-peak rate will apply to every other time and weekends. There will be no charge between 10pm and 6am for either tunnel.
Peak charges are expected to be £2.50 for a motorbike or moped, £4 for a car or small van, £6.50 for a large van and £10 for a HGV.
Off-peak charge of £1.50 will apply to most vehicles registered on TfL's Auto Pay system.
Drivers who fail to pay the toll risk being sent an £180 penalty charge notice.
Low-income Londoners in the relevant Boroughs and City of London will be eligible for a 50 per cent discount.
That includes people on Income Support, Income-related Employment & Support Allowance, Income-based Jobseekers Allowance, Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit, Carer's Allowance or Housing Benefit.
New bus routes will also be introduced and go through the tunnel. Transport for London (TfL) said the buses will be free for at least the first year from April 7th.
The introduction of the new buses, including the Superloop 4 (SL4) between Canary Wharf and Grove Park, will increase the hourly number of buses able to cross the river in the area from six to 21
Transport for London's Chief Capital Officer, Stuart Harvey, said: “The tunnel is on track to open in the coming months and is a testament to brilliant and ground-breaking engineering.
