Metropolitan Police name man who was fatally shot in Erith as murder investigation launches

Detectives investigating a murder in Erith have named the victim as 24 year old Kai McGingley who was from Southwark. Emergency services were called just before 9pm on Thursday, 9 February to reports of shots fired on Pembroke Road in Erith.

They found Kai suffering with a gunshot injury. Despite the best efforts of emergency services to save him, he died at the scene.

A murder investigation has been launched led by Detective Chief Inspector Chris Wood, who said: “At this early stage I am very keen to hear from anyone who has any information about the events that took place in Pembroke Road, and in particular anyone that has any knowledge of a silver Land Rover Freelander GL52 HDO which was abandoned by the suspects following the murder."
