Police name Lewisham stab victim as Dawn Bennett
Police have named a woman who was stabbed to death on Lewisham Way on 10 June as Dawn Bennett.
A murder investigation was launched after Dawn died in hospital on 16 June. Officers attended an address on Lewisham Way on 10 June and found a woman who had been stabbed.Dawn was taken to a south London hospital by the London Ambulance Service where she later died. It was her 59th birthday.A post-mortem examination found the cause of death was an incised wound to the chest.A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
He was charged with the offence and after an appearance at Bromley Magistrates’ Court he was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey next week.
