'Skipping Sikh' honoured by Boris Johnson for raising thousands during lockdown

Lockdown social media star the 'Skipping Sikh' has been honoured by the Prime Minister for raising thousands of pounds for NHS charities.

Rajinder Singh, 73, from Harlington, became a worldwide success story after recording exercise videos in his allotment to help the community stay active. His tireless efforts have so far raised over £13,500 and in a letter to Mr Singh the Prime Minister said:

Rajinder said he was "truly humbled" for being awarded the Points of Light award, which recognises outstanding individual volunteers.

Rajinder hasn't been confined to his allotment and has skipped down the street to deliver cakes to London's Covid heroes, including ambulance crews and bus drivers.

He shows no sign of slowing down with a special appearance this week at Age UK in Hillingdon.
