Transport bosses test new long lasting disinfectant as part of new cleaning regime on the Tube

Transport for London is testing a new long lasting disinfectant as part of a new cleaning regime on the Tube to protect passengers from coronavirus.

Transport bosses are in the final stages of testing the anti-viral spray which would provide protection for up to 30 days across the network.

A fluid used in hospitals is already being used Tube trains and stations to give Londoners added protection.

Busy interchange stations are also being cleaned more regularly including during the day together with depots and drivers’ cabs.

London buses will also have areas such as poles and doors wiped down with a strong disinfectant every day.
