Could hand sanitisers on the Tube help stop the spread of coronavirus?

One area of concern for the spread of coronavirus is London's transport network. This week Sadiq Khan said he did not currently see the need to shut the Tube or warn against the use of public transport.

ITV News London spoke to a top virologist who says that installing hand sanitisers at every Tube station could help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

But the boss of Transport for London says, at the moment, he has no plans to do that. Mike Brown says he will be guided by Public Health England.

Dr Gary McLean is a virologist at London Metropolitan University. He would like to see hand sanitiser gel at every Tube station. He says if people use them routinely and effectively is would minimise potential transmissions.
