Blue Story and Top Boy star Micheal Ward nominated for BAFTA Award

Blue Story and Top Boy star Micheal Ward has been nominated for a BAFTA Award recognising rising stars in the world of film.

Ward, who grew up in Romford, is among a five-strong shortlist for the EE Rising Star Award.

Blue Story follows the lives of two boys caught up on opposite sides of a postcode war.

It is about two friends, Marco, played by Ward, and Timmy, played by Stephen Odubola, who go to school together in Peckham, south London, but end up in rival gangs.

Michael was still only sixteen when he started watching Top Boy. Little did he know he would eventually earn himself a leading role.

Micheal said he felt excited and happy to have made the BAFTA shortlist.
