Arrests for modern slavery and trafficking after nail bar raids in Southwark
Several children and adults are being given medical treatment and support after police found them working in poor conditions at nail bars in south east London.
Officers raided five nail bars in Southwark on Thursday on suspicion that the people working in them were being treated illegally.
A total of 13 people were arrested for modern slavery and human trafficking offences, one was arrested on suspicion of immigration offences. They have all been taken to south London police stations where they are being questioned.
The people who had been working in the nail bars, 19 adults and five children, were mainly Vietnamese and Chinese.
