'Year of Hope' launched by father of Damilola Taylor to tackle youth violence

The father of Damilola Taylor is launching his 'Year of Hope' campaign ahead of the 20th anniversary of his son's death.

Damilola was just ten years old when he was stabbed to death in Peckham 19 years ago.

His father, Richard, has started a 12 month campaign in which he hopes thousands of young people, youth workers and local communities will come together to tackle youth violence.

From schools to staterooms Richard Taylor has given everything in his fight for change. And at the age of 71 he has more to give as he begins his 'Year of Hope'.

Richard's relentless giving is routed in what was taken from him, a 10-year-old son.

Damilola Taylor's picture was seen across the world - a boy stabbed and left bleeding in a stairwell.
