Heathrow baggage handlers' strike called off after new pay offer
A planned strike by baggage handlers and check-in staff at Heathrow airport has been suspended after a new pay offer.
Members of Unite employed by GH London (formerly Azzurra) were due to walk out on Friday.
The union said 300 of its members at Heathrow's Terminals 2 and 4 will vote next week on the new offer.
Regional officer Kevin Hall said: "Following a new offer from the company, our members will be balloted on the deal next week.
"The details of the offer will not be revealed until our members have a chance to vote on it.
"As a result, the strike action planned for tomorrow has been suspended and our members will be working normally."
