Police officer reunited with woman he pulled from plane crash wreckage as a baby

Fifty years after a plane crashed into her house killing her parents, Beverley Jones has thanked the police officer who pulled her from the rubble as a baby.

Keith Simmons pulled Beverley from the rubble of a house in Gatwick demolished in one of the country's worst ever plane disasters. She was just 18 months old. Fifty people died including Beverley's parents.

Keith was pictured giving Beverley a teddy bear for her second birthday. She also has a toy recovered from the wreckage.

Beverley was raised by her grandparents and still live near Gatwick. Keith retired from Surrey to north Devon. They last saw each other on her 21st birthday but lost touch.
