Viagogo ordered to make immediate website changes or go back to court

By Chloe Keedy, ITV News reporter

The Competition and Markets Authority have today formally raised concerns with Viagogo about their compliance with a court order.

The CMA has told ITV News Viagogo must make changes with immediate effect, or they will go back to court.

ITV News has been told the concerns relate to whether:

  • Info about seat numbers is being made clear to the buyer

  • Info about resale restrictions being made clear to the buyer

  • Messages about availability and popularity of tickets are misleading customers

The CMA says "severe penalties" are available if Viagogo is found to be in contempt of court.

On Wednesday ITV News revealed Viagogo may be breaking the law after seats for Drake's next London shows went on sale on the site before they had even been released.

Adam Webb from campaign group FanFair Alliance was watching when tickets went on sale.

Despite our findings which ITV News showed to them, Viagogo insists it's not breaking the law.
