Watford appeal for volunteers to help clear snow

Premier League side Watford have appealed for volunteers to help clear the pitch of snow ahead of their game against West Brom.

The club are trying all they can to ensure the game goes ahead and have promised anyone who gives up their free time to assist free entrance to the game on Saturday.

A statement on watfordfc.com on Friday afternoon said: "The Hornets would welcome volunteers at Vicarage Road Stadium tomorrow in order to help clear the pitch, stands and walkways of any snow which falls between now and the morning.

"In a similar vein to those who volunteered their time five years ago ahead of a snowy win over Huddersfield Town in January 2013, you can expect to be thanked for your help with a pair of complimentary match tickets, as well as tea & coffee and bacon rolls."

The team have been training in snowy condition this week, as the image below shows, so they have at least got used to a tricky surface.
