Old Bexley and Sidcup MP undergoes lung surgery

The Old Bexley and Sidcup MP James Brokenshire has been discharged from hospital after having surgery on his right lung. The 50 year-old stood down as Northern Ireland Secretary last week so he could prepare for the operation on a lesion.

He used Twitter to say he was now out of hospital and praised the NHS staff:
