Live Nation executive who filmed up thousands of skirts during commute spared jail

A former executive at ticketing firm Live Nation who used a spy pen to film up thousands of women's skirts has been spared jail.

Andrew Macrae, 43, Live Nation's ex-vice president, targeted his victims during his commute to and from London Waterloo.

He amassed more than 50,000 images of strangers and was only caught when an off-duty police officer spotted him place a bag containing the pen near to a woman's legs at Clapham Junction station last July.

When confronted, Macrae admitted the pen was a camera.

Police later established that photographs had been taken on public transport, at his home in Redhill, Surrey, as well as at a neighbour's address.

Macrae confessed to investigators that he had been using the pen as far back as January 2013.

Some of the images even featured Macrae wearing his victims' underwear.

The married father-of-one also installed a camera in his guest bedroom, and revealed he had filmed through a neighbour's window while she was undergoing a waxing treatment.

He then used a spare key to enter the house and picture himself wearing her knickers.

Having previously pleaded guilty to seven counts of voyeurism for sexual gratification, on Friday he was handed a 20-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Judge Jeremy Donne described Macrae's action as "sophisticated" and "organised".

"These offences are rightly regarded with revulsion by the public in general and women in particular," he said.

Live Nation said it "strongly condemned" Macrae's acts.
