A man suspected of trying to spy on coffee shop customers going to the toilet is being hunted by police after he was caught on his own hidden camera.

The small device was hidden in a grate in the ceiling in the only customer toilet at a Starbucks coffee shop in Vauxhall, south London.

But the man managed to film himself while putting the spy camera up, meaning police have a crystal clear image of the man they want to find.

Police say the camera had been in the toilet for around three to four weeks recording customers.

It was only taken down when a members of the public spotted the device in the ceiling and the police were called.

After officers examined the camera a series of video files of members of the public using the toilet were found.

Images of a male suspect, who police believe placed the camera at the location, were also uncovered.

At this stage police say there is no reason to believe these videos could have been viewed by anybody other than officers.

Exactly a year after the camera was found, detectives have released an image in the hope that someone will be able to identify him.
