London City Airport unveils £400m redevelopment plans
London City Airport has released artists’ impressions of its £400 million redevelopment.
Unveiled to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the airport’s first commercial flight, the images show a larger passenger terminal, seven new aircraft stands and a parallel taxiway to increase runway capacity.
Construction on the privately-funded project is due to begin early next year and be completed in 2021.
The airport is also building the country's first digital air traffic control tower, which will begin operation in 2019.
