Man pleads guilty to GBH after 'life changing' acid attack

A man has pleaded guilty to seriously injuring a woman out celebrating her 21st birthday and her cousin after acid was thrown at them through a car window.

Resham Khan and Jameel Muhktar both suffered “life changing” burns to their faces and bodies after being attacked as they drove through Beckton, east London.

John Tomlin, 25, of Colman Road, Canning Town, pleaded guilty to two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm when he appeared at Snarebsrook Crown Court today.

Tomlin pleaded not guilty to two charges of causing GBH with intent.

He is due to go on trial on November 27.

The incident took place in Tollgate Road on June 21.

In the days after the attack, aspiring model Ms Khan told ITV News about the "excruciating" agony.

Mr Muhktar said he felt "emotionally wrecked" and "in continuous pain".
