Ex Tesco security guard arrested after 20-hour roof protest over sacking
An ex security guard has been arrested after staging a 20-hour protest at a Tesco Extra over his sacking.
Adam Jammeh began his protest at 6pm on Thursday by climbing onto girders in the roof high above the checkout area of the store.
The 46-year-old, who worked for Total Security Services, streamed part of his protest live on Facebook.
He called for chief executives from Tesco to come to the store in Portman Road, Reading, to address his grievances.
Mr Jammeh claimed he was fired after being falsely accused of stealing from the store.
Thames Valley Police said a 46-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of Public Order Act offences.
The store was closed shortly after the incident began, and a Tesco spokeswoman said the company was "assisting police with the matter".
