Police detain man wielding meat cleaver in north London
Police have detained a man who was wielding a meat cleaver and waving it at passersby in north London.
Police were called at just after 4pm on May 9 to a man armed with two knives who had threatened a shopkeeper in Upper Clapton Road, Clapton.
Officers attended the location, and detained a man nearby at an address in Rossington Street. There are no reports of any injuries.
The 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon, and taken to a north London police station.
He was later detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to a hospital.
