Man killed in 'head-on' M20 collision
A man has been killed after a car believed to be travelling the wrong way down a motorway collided head-on with another vehicle.
The collision happened on the M20 London-bound between junction four, for West Malling, Rochester and Tonbridge, and junction three, for Sevenoaks, Gatwick and Heathrow.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 3.35am.
A man from London – who was a passenger in a grey Toyota Corolla reported to have been travelling on the wrong side of the carriageway – died at the scene.
The driver, a 37-year-old man from Orpington in south-east London, has been arrested in connection with the fatal accident.
The Corolla collided with a black Volkswagen Touareg.
Highways officers reopened the motorway at just before 10am.
