Thief uses cunning trick to snatch phone using piece of paper

A thief used a cunning trick to steal a woman's phone without her realising.

A suspect used a piece of paper to swipe the mobile in a busy cafe. The victim was using her laptop with her phone lying in front of her on her table.

The suspect approached the woman and placed a piece of paper in front of her, concealing the phone beneath it.

Police are warning the public to look after their phones by keeping them with them at all times and not texting while walking around in the street.
