Woman punched repeatedly on the floor by male attacker in west London

A woman was punched repeatedly on the floor by a male attacker in west London, Scotland Yard said

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a violent assault on a 19-year-old woman.

At around 12.30am on December 29, the victim got off a bus in Burlington Lane, Chiswick near to the railway station.

The victim crossed the road and moments later she was attacked from behind by an unknown male.

The man hit the woman on the back of her head and then punched her repeatedly as she lay on the floor.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance. She was discharged later that day.

The attacker is described as a white man, over 6ft tall, of broad build and aged around 40 years.
