A Tory MP today demanded the resignation of Transport Secretary Chris Grayling after accusing him of political prejudice towards London's mayor.

Chris Grayling yesterday rejected Sadiq Khan's demand to be allowed to run suburban rail services, saying Transport for London failed to make a business case.

But a leaked letter from Mr Grayling to former mayor Boris Johnson in 2013 reveals he opposed further rail devolution because he wanted to keep services 'out of the clutches' of a Labour mayor.

Bromley and Chislehurst MP Bob Neill accused the Transport Secretary of misleading Parliament and called on him to resign.

Below is the text of the leaked letter from Chris Grayling.
