Second man charged with Pentonville prison murder

A second man has been charged with the murder of an inmate at Pentonville prison.

Jamal Mahmoud, 21, was stabbed to death inside the north London jail on October 18.

Robert Butler, 30, has been remanded in custody and will appear in court on a date to be confirmed.

Last month, Basana Kimbembi, 34, of no fixed abode, was charged with murder.

He appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court via video link and has been remanded to appear at the Old Bailey via video link on January 23.

Police enquiries continue.
